The Opportunity
A full-service commercial MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) contractor with more than 50 years of continuous operation is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to provide field leadership and technical support for large-scale commercial electrical projects.
In this role, you will oversee change-outs, retrofits, and installations across complex electrical systems and associated control systems on projects ranging from $100K to $3M. You will direct the day-to-day work activities of electrical mechanics, apprentices, and helpers — managing groups of 10–15 — to ensure every project is completed safely, on budget, and to quality standards.
A Day in the Life
- Supervise and coordinate work activities for electrical mechanics, apprentices, and helpers
- Manage 10–15 electricians at a time across active project sites
- Provide guidance and demonstrate best practices to electricians, apprentices, and helpers
- Perform or assist with electrical installation work as needed
- Lead by example on safety — teach and coach behaviors that prevent injury
- Collaborate with the Electrical Project Manager on labor and material requirements, and evaluate work in progress against scheduling, budget, and quality standards
What You Bring
- Current or previous leadership experience as a Lead Electrician, Foreman, Supervisor, or Superintendent on commercial electrical projects
- In-depth knowledge of commercial electrical systems and associated control systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings and construction plans
- Safety-first mindset with working knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard internet tools
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and supervisory skills
- Clean driving record; ability to pass a drug screen and background check
- High energy and adaptability for a fast-paced, dynamic field environment
Preferred Credentials
- 7+ years of commercial electrical field experience
- Journeyman or Master's Electrical License
- Prior experience managing crews of 10 or more
- Experience with electrical control system change-outs and retrofits
