The Opportunity
We are hiring a Mechanical Project Manager / Senior Project Manager for large ground-up data center construction work in Richmond, VA. This is a strong opportunity for a mechanical construction PM who wants major project work, strong compensation, excellent benefits, and long-term career growth.
A Day in the Life
- Manage equipment, material, and subcontractor estimates
- Handle purchasing and release of non-commodity items
- Oversee submittal, operations, maintenance, and closeout processes
- Negotiate and price all change orders
- Develop initial project schedules
- Submit RFIs and review responses for scope impact
- Provide project information to the Construction Manager, job Superintendent, Fabrication Division, and Start-up Supervisor
- Collaborate with the Virtual Construction Department for detailing information
What You Bring
- Hands-on project management experience in commercial, heavy industrial, or mission critical construction projects
- Experience managing projects lasting a year or more
- Bachelor's degree in engineering — preferably Mechanical, Building Construction, or Construction Engineering Management
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project management software
- Knowledge of strategic planning, accounting, cost forecasting, and resource coordination
- Ability to work diplomatically with owners, GCs, subcontractors, engineers, superintendents, and draftsmen
- Knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, specifications, building materials, engineering standards, and codes
